S A S H I R A Art & Home is an online art gallery and shop, offering original fine art, prints, and fiber art, by artist Sashira Gafic. We ensure a lighthearted variety of bright artwork to fit any budget.
Sashira Gafic is an artist, full time parent of 3, and former junior high art teacher living on Treaty 1 Territory, the homeland of the Métis people (Winnipeg, Canada). Her main mediums are watercolor and punch needle embroidery. Much of her watercolor work is inspired by the organic world that surrounds us, but pattern and repetition always shine through. Her fiber art is a reflection of her family history and sense of humor. Most of what she makes comes from a desire for a chaotic order, a planned haphazardness.
Sashira's work is mainly lighthearted, bright fun, with a bit of nostalgia for her childhood. It is also a search for connection to her cultural history, which includes Bosnian Muslim, and Russian Mennonite roots.
